Barra Collins is a theatre practitioner who works in the visual arts. His artwork often utilises audience interaction and/or their decision process in the development of the piece.
Barra Collins graduated from the prestigious Goldsmiths College in 2007 with a degree in Drama and Theatre Arts. His training in both art and theatre led him to a fascination in interactive and immersive art.
He is interested in exploring the part we play in the pressures and creation of societal reality. Through a series of experimental installations Barra wishes to create an experience which introduces the audience to the idea that they themselves are the authors of reality: that they are 'caught up in a power situation of which they are themselves the bearers'. (Michel Foucault) Not only to understand the unconscious influence we have upon one another but, in a time of uncertainty, to reclaim our sense of control over our lives.
